OUR APPROACH
The right support
for what’s next.
Start with the support your team needs. Choose a monthly Production Plan for clear briefs, a monthly Partnership Plan for creative direction and execution, or a Project Plan for a defined scope. Here’s how each works, what’s included, and what it costs.
Production Plan
$4,995/month
You set the direction. We deliver the design.
A monthly retainer for teams with clear briefs and a steady flow of work. DesignSilk handles execution, refinement, and delivery. Instead of purchasing a set block of retainer hours, you pay one flat monthly fee with no hourly cap, as we work through one active request at a time.
One active request at a time
Typical delivery: 2–3 business days*
Revisions included
Flat fee with no hourly cap
Month-to-month engagement
Partnership Plan
$7,995/month
Creative direction & execution, working together.
A monthly retainer for teams that need creative direction as well as execution. We bring ideas, recommend solutions, and help prioritize the work, then carry it through to delivery. Rather than committing to a multi-month retainer, you work with us month-to-month, with priority support included.
Includes everything in production plan, plus:
Typical delivery: 1–2 business days*
Creative direction & ongoing recommendations
Collaborative planning & prioritization
Priority scheduling
Project Plan
Custom Quoted
A clear scope. A finished deliverable.
A defined engagement for your website, brand, or next design initiative. We agree on the deliverables, revisions, and timeline, then provide a fixed project quote.
Website projects typically start at $5,000.
Fixed quote based on scope
Agreed deliverables, revisions & timeline
Payments split across agreed milestones
*Turnaround estimates apply to typical, clearly scoped requests once work begins. Larger initiatives are planned in stages, with timing agreed in advance.
Questions before we get started?
Should I choose a retainer or a project?
Choose a retainer if you have an ongoing flow of design work. Choose a project if you need a specific deliverable with a defined scope and finish line. If you’re unsure, we’ll help you find the right fit during a consultation.
How is the DesignSilk retainer different from a traditional retainer?
Traditional retainers can leave you watching the clock, working around hourly limits, and wondering what the next revision will cost. Our monthly retainers replace that friction with a flat fee, no hourly cap, and no multi-month commitment. You get ongoing design support with revisions included, so every small change doesn’t become another charge. We spend less time tracking hours and quoting routine requests, and more time creating, refining, and delivering the work. You know what you’re paying and what’s included. We can focus on doing the work well. Simplicity. That's the difference.
How much does a DesignSilk retainer cost?
Production is $4,995 per month. Partnership is $7,995 per month. You pay upfront for each month of service. Your fee covers the agreed design services, with no hourly billing or hourly cap. We work through one active request at a time and revise the work with you until it’s ready.
How much does a design project cost?
Project engagements start at $2,995. Each project receives a fixed quote based on its deliverables, complexity, timeline, and level of creative direction. The starting price applies to focused projects. Larger websites, more extensive identities, and complex product work are quoted according to their scope.
How long do design requests take?
Typical retainer requests are delivered in 2–3 business days for Production and 1–2 business days for Partnership, once the request is active and we have the information needed to begin. Partnership includes higher priority in our scheduling queue, which supports its faster turnaround. Larger or more complex requests are planned in stages. Project engagements follow the timeline agreed in your proposal. Timely feedback and complete assets help keep the work on schedule.
Are revisions included?
Both retainers include revisions to active design requests. For projects, the proposal defines the revision process and included rounds. If you need additional deliverables or changes beyond the agreed scope, we’ll confirm any effect on price and timing before proceeding.
What if I need help defining the project?
You don’t need to arrive with a finished brief. Bring your goals and what you know so far. We’ll clarify the requirements and determine the right scope before quoting the work.
What’s the difference between Production & Partnership?
Production is for teams that know what they need and can provide clear briefs and priorities. We handle the design execution. Partnership adds creative direction. We help identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and prioritize what to make, then carry the work through to delivery.
What kinds of work can DesignSilk help with?
If you can picture it for your company, chances are we can help bring it to life. From your next big launch to the everyday visuals your team needs, we’re here to help. We provide design support for websites, mobile applications, web applications, user interfaces, user experiences, visual identities, presentations, marketing materials, videos, illustrations, animations, and interactive prototypes. Before starting, we confirm which services and deliverables fit your engagement, including any development or handoff requirements.
Is there a long-term commitment?
Both retainers are month-to-month, with no multi-month commitment. Renewal and cancellation terms are provided in your agreement before you begin.
How do project payments work?
Project payments are split into installments tied to agreed milestones. Your proposal outlines each milestone, the amount due, and when payment is required. We agree on the full payment schedule before work begins. We use Mercury to accept payments, with options including credit card and ACH transfers. If your company also uses Mercury, we can arrange a direct transfer.
How do we manage requests & communication?
We use Asana at DesignSilk, but we’re happy to work within your preferred project management system. If you don’t have one, we’ll invite you to a shared Asana project. For Production, we prefer to keep requests, feedback, and communication within the project board. Keeping everything alongside the work helps us stay focused and keeps decisions easy to find. For Partnership, we communicate where your team works. Whether you prefer Slack, email, text messages, or the project board, we’ll meet you there while keeping priorities and progress organized. Both retainers move through one active request at a time. For projects, we organize reviews around the agreed milestones.
What if I’m unhappy with the work?
We want you to feel confident in the work we create together. If something isn't meeting your expectations, tell us early. We'll listen, work through your feedback, and make reasonable revisions within the original brief and agreed scope. If you decide to stop, you can cancel a monthly retainer before the next renewal; the current paid period is generally nonrefundable. For projects, we'll account for work completed and authorized noncancelable expenses and refund any unused prepayment as applicable. If we materially fail to provide the agreed services and can't resolve it, an appropriate refund may apply. You'll find the full details in our Terms & Conditions.
Do I own the work I receive?
Yes, you own all the final deliverables you receive. Any stock assets, images, or videos we use are royalty-free and remain subject to their license terms. We reserve the right to feature work we produce in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you specifically ask us not to. Let us know if your work needs to remain private.
